Dental Check Up

SenGupta & Associates believes that everyone deserves to have a clear picture of their dental health. Based on the results of this initial exam, your dentist will create your personalised dental treatment plan, which will serve as a guide for you and your dental care team in the future. Your treatment could start as soon as the day after your initial exam.

Children’s Dentistry

It is critical to begin caring for your child’s dental health at a young age. We usually recommend dental care for children as young as one year old. Your child’s teeth will grow in three stages. Primary dentition, which typically begins between the ages of 6 and 24 months. Your child will begin to develop baby teeth at this point. Mixed dentition develops between the ages of 6 and 13 years. At this age, children have a mix of permanent and baby teeth. The final stage is permanent dentition, which occurs between the ages of 13 and up.

Teeth Cleaning

During a general cleaning, your hygienist will remove any plaque buildup from the surface of your teeth, polish them, rinse (medicated options are often available), and then perform professional flossing. Deep cleanings are typically performed over two or more visits and include gum scaling. Tooth scaling is when your dentist removes plaque and tartar from below the gumline.

Orthodontics (Braces)

Your teeth can be angled, crowded, and compacted, or you may have excessive space between them. Orthodontic braces can correct these issues. After wearing orthodontic braces for some time, your teeth will adjust into their ideal placement, which can repair the lining and spacing inside your mouth. The treatment period would be determined by the overall health and status of your teeth and gums. During scheduled dental visits, your progress will be evaluated and assessed.

Sleep Dentistry

Sleep dentistry, also known as sedation dentistry, is a process in which your dentist administers a sedative prior to performing any dental procedures. Typically, the medications simply relax the patient rather than rendering them completely unconscious. However, general anaesthesia may be used for more complex dental procedures.

Veneers & Smile Makeover

Porcelain veneers are one of the most popular cosmetic dentistry procedures. A veneer is a thin porcelain material that is cemented to the outside of your teeth. You can significantly improve the appearance of your teeth and smile in a short period of time simply by using this cosmetic procedure. Veneers are designed to be easily and quickly placed on your teeth to give you a natural-looking, beautiful smile.

Root Canal Therapy

Root canal therapy will be performed by your dentist to restore a badly damaged or infected tooth. During the procedure, the damaged area of the tooth is removed, the remaining portion of the tooth is cleaned and disinfected, and a filling is applied and sealed to enhance and strengthen the remaining portion of the tooth. Many patients may require root canal therapy due to tooth decay. While the decay progresses deeply into the tooth, it eventually reaches the nerve. At this point, root canal (or endodontic) treatment is the best way to correct and restore the tooth.

Tooth Fissure Sealants

Dental fissure sealants are a protective layer that is applied to the chewing teeth (the molars) to help prevent tooth decay. Sealants are applied quickly and painlessly by your dental practitioner. The back molars’ fissures and pits receive the majority of sealant application.

Tooth-Coloured Fillings

Tooth-coloured fillings are composed of a mixture of plastic resins and silica fillers. Many of the properties of natural tooth structure, such as wear-residence and translucency, are mimicked by these substances. Dental composite also aids in the strengthening of teeth.

Dental Implants

The loss of one or more teeth can have a significant impact on a person’s daily lifestyle as well as the appearance of their smile. A missing tooth can change the frame and shape of a person’s mouth.

A dental implant is made of titanium. Each titanium implant will be inserted into the bone by the dentist. The implant can support a wide range of tooth restorations, from dental crowns to multiple dental bridges. When a dental implant is inserted into the bone, it forms a bond with the jaw and functions similarly to the root of a natural tooth.

Implant dentistry is typically a good choice for replacing teeth or stabilising dentures.

Dental Bridges

A bridge is a custom-made replacement tooth or teeth that fills the space left by one or more missing teeth. When a tooth is lost, the teeth around it may shift and become crooked. This may make it difficult to speak or chew. A missing tooth in your lower jaw may cause a tooth in your upper jaw to shift down into that space, causing your teeth to become uneven or crooked. This can alter your bite and put additional strain on your teeth and jaw joints, potentially causing pain and damage. The bridge restores your bite permanently and aids in the preservation of your natural facial shape.

Intra Oral Dental X-Rays

The most common type of dental X-ray is an intraoral X-ray. These X-rays provide a great deal of detail and allow your dentist to detect cavities, examine the health of the tooth root and bone surrounding the tooth, assess the status of developing teeth, and monitor the overall health of your teeth and jawbone.

Intra Oral Digital Scanning

An intraoral scanner is a device that captures 3D digital dental impressions and uses the data to create a highly detailed image of the patient’s mouth. It is often shaped like a wand or large pen. This image can then be viewed on a computer screen or used to make dental restorations.

Cone Beam 3D Scanning

3D Cone Beam Imaging is a cutting-edge x-ray scanning technology that allows your dentist to easily see your teeth, soft tissues, and even nerve pathways. This system generates a three-dimensional image of your oral cavity, allowing your dentist to see these structures clearly and in detail from any angle.

Panoramic X-Rays

A panoramic dental X-ray produces an image of your entire mouth, including the upper and lower jaws, all of your teeth, the temporomandibular (TMJ) joints, and even your nasal cavity and sinuses. This allows your dentist to identify any of the following issues: Fractures, cysts, impacted teeth, infections, and tumours are all examples of bone abnormalities.

A dental professional may also request a panoramic dental X-ray in order to plan treatments such as braces, implants, or dentures.

Another advantage of this type of X-ray is that it produces a flat representation of your jaw’s curved structure, allowing your dentist to examine every part.

Facial Aesthetics

Botox and dermal fillers are excellent complementary treatments to cosmetic dentistry. Many patients find that combining cosmetic dental treatments with facial aesthetics boosts their confidence and leaves them looking and feeling several years younger.

Botox is perhaps the most well-known facial aesthetics treatment available. It entails using a purified version of the botulinum type A toxin to reduce unwanted facial lines and wrinkles, restoring a more youthful appearance.

Our skilled cosmetic dental team at SenGupta & Associates have completed additional training and are fully qualified in both Botox and dermal fillers.
